About Bram van Leeuwenstein

Bram van Leeuwenstein (b. 1987, the Netherlands) specialises in porcelain and ceramics, but also works in welding, set design, interior design and sculpture.

Light, translucency, etching and engraving
He is best known for his collaboration on the ‘Little White World’ a tableware range which was presented during a Steinbeiser event at the Lloyd Hotel in Amsterdam, which combines functionality with imaginative design.

During a recent residency at the EKWC, he experimented with bone china clay to create a series of lamps, each of which is unique thanks to the application of almost painterly special pigments and the use of various tools to alter the surface of the ceramic skin: engraving.

At EKWC he created the Translucent Whispers series, which is on permanent display in the EKWC library, together with the Blue Eclipse table, made entirely from upcycled wood, which he created in collaboration with Jip van Leeuwenstein.

Together with video artist and long term collaborator Donna Verheijden, Bram founded the project space 171project.space in Arnhem.

In addition to his own practice, Bram also works with his team, artheon.productions, in various museums on art handling, exhibition construction and design, and produce artworks for other artists.
